My Story
Naomi Pitcher – Professional Hairdresser & Makeup Artist
Hairdressing has been a passion of mine since I was 12, when I first started working in my aunt’s salon. Captivated from the start, I went on to study hairdressing at Wintec (Waikato Institute of Technology), where I was honoured with the L’Oréal and Dateline Award of Excellence and graduated top of my class.
In 2014, I began cutting and colouring at Azarni Hair, a boutique salon on Hamilton’s Casabella Lane, quickly building a loyal clientele who valued not only my creative and bubbly personality but also my ability to bring their beauty visions to life. Clients soon started asking me to help with their makeup, which led me to immerse myself in makeup artistry from 2015—learning, experimenting, and practising on friends and family.
By 2017, I was offering professional makeup services and launched my own hair and makeup business. In 2020, I moved my business to Raglan while continuing work in Hamilton, proudly transitioning into an eco-conscious, 100% vegan hair and makeup artist. In 2023, I relocated to Auckland to be closer to my partner and opened my own home studio in Titirangi.
Beyond the salon, I’m also a performance artist, working with hula hoop, circus, Lyra, pole, DJing and hosting events. These creative pursuits inspire my hair and makeup work, keeping my approach playful, bold, and personalised. Performing has taught me precision, adaptability, and confidence — skills I bring to every client experience.
I’m passionate about evolving with the industry—upskilling, reducing waste, and embracing sustainable practices to support the planet, people, and animals. Most importantly, I aim to make every client feel fabulous, nurtured, and celebrated. The most rewarding part of my work is creating a truly personalised experience that leaves each person feeling confident, cared for, and radiant.
